Grido – Eternal Music

Grido, is one of the most recognizable figures of Italian rap in the 1990s and 2000s.

He was a key member of Gemelli DiVersi from 1998 to 2014, a group that marked an era with hits such as “Un attimo ancora” and “Mary.” Grido later embarked on a solo career for good, releasing albums such as “Io Grido” (2011), “Smoke Signals” (2017) and “Diamonds and Mud” (2019). His latest work “Musica Eterna” represents what he calls a “Grido 2.0”: a sixteen-track album that marks the artistic maturity he reached after years of experience and personal growth.

The album, which features collaborations with the likes of Fabri Fibra, J-Ax, Jake La Furia, Clementino, Entics, Nerone, Vacca and Tormento, is conceived as the exact opposite of the “fast food music” we are used to today, focusing on deep content and authentic messages that can stand the test of time. During this conversation with Rido, the Milanese artist - who is also the brother of J-Ax - talks about the path that led him from a member of one of Italy's most beloved rap groups to a mature and self-aware solo artist, capable of exploring deep themes such as the sacredness of music and personal redemption.
